OMG!OMG! OMG! OMG! I was like, soooo excited for this concert at Verizon this past Saturday, I couldn’t even sleep Friday night. Like how many times in my life will I get to see Nick Lachey AND Ashley Parker Angel AND Teddy Geiger AND Aly and AJ at the same place? Like, never, well, once and Saturday was it! :)

Anyways, we like got to Verizon right before 3:30 and found a place to sit on the lawn. There were like all these other girls all around us and it was like great. Well, really, it was like soooo hot – outside that is! And backstage, I bet, too, ‘cause Nick Lachey was back there working out – OMG I love you, Nick! XOXO.  Not like the guy I saw who was wearing a t-shirt that said “Nick Lachey is Nick La-gay” on it. I was like, that is sooo not cool to come to a concert where like everybody is and make fun of the person that everybody is there to see sing and perform.

Anyways, the first band came on the lawn stage and it was like some band nobody ever heard of called Give Me Sound or something. They were like from Kansas City I think but I don’t think they were like on TRL or anything because they were on the little stage in the lawn. Give Me Sound didn’t sound like Nick Lachey. NOT AT ALL. They had a DJ who was a girl and that was cool but OMG like other that that we were all like Zzzzz…LOL!

But then came Aly & AJ and they are like soooo cute. They’re like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen only soooo much cuter. And they have this really great song about science and stuff called "Chemicals React" and it was sooo good and they’re all like “Wow. I thought L.A. was hot,” and we all laughed cause we were all like, “We thought L.A. was hot, too.” It was sooo cool to like be on the same wavelength as those two super-cute singers.

After Aly & AJ came Mario Vazquez and he was sooo into all the ladies in the crowd. He was all like moving and singing all sexy and he pretty much dedicated all three of the songs he sang to all the fly ladies in the audience and the 7th graders from Shawnee Mission behind us were all like “Hells yes!” Mario Vasquez was sooo cute by the way. And he wore his hat kinda crooked and could dance really really good.

Teddy Geiger OMG! OMG! came out next and he sounded soooooooooo good. I can’t even tell you how good he sounded when he sang. It was like he was singing to me, you know? It was like 500 degrees out and Teddy was still like totally amazing! He played piano and guitar and switched back and forth for his songs. Teddy Geiger is so talented. Don’t tell anybody I said this but he’s like a way better at music than Nick Lachey. JK! Nick’s waaaay cuter! I LOVE YOU, NICK! But yeah, Teddy was really really good.

Did I mention how hot it was and how many people were there? OMG like I must’ve run into like every single one of my friends, and they were with their friends, who were with their friends and I was all like – EVERYBODY is at Red, White and Boom, it was like so awesome. I went to get some Ben & Jerry’s and totally saw a friend of mine who I hadn’t seen in SOOOOOOO LONG ‘cause she moved to Olathe the year before last and I got her MySpace page and we’re totally gonna hang out sometime.

But after I got my ice cream, Saving Jane came on the little stage and they looked kinda cool but I don’t know, I like just didn’t really get into them all that much. Like the band looked like Fall Out Boy or Hawthorne Heights and that was cool but their singer was this totally blonde girl and she was OK at singing but she said something bad about cheerleaders and we were all like, WHATEV, and went back to our blanket for water and nachos.

AND THEN – on the big stage, was Ashley Parker Angel!!! OMG! He was sooooooo cute and he had a guy in his band with a Mohawk and that was soooo cool. And his voice was all raspy and scratchy. I guess that sometimes happens with famous singers when they sing live, you know? Their voices don’t really sound like on their CDs and it’s like, just kinda weird that it sounds so different, like it’s not even the same person, you know? But Ashley sang the song "Soundtrack to Your Life" and I was sooo worried ‘cause I was like, “What if doesn’t play it?” But he did so it was all cool. Each singer only played like 5 songs anyway and since he was in O-Town I know Ashley Park Angel had a ton of old songs he could’ve played for all the O-Town fans who were there to see him. But he didn’t! :0 He played only new stuff! Well, he did play this one song, he called it a classic rock song, and it went something like, “Sending out an S.O.S. Sending out an S.O.S.,” and I had NO idea what it was I just know he never played it on "There and Back" or "Making the Band." I don’t like classic rock very much anyway. My neighbor listens to the Cure and Tears for Fears and they are soooo boring. But I think it’s soooo cool that Ashley Parker Angel would play an old song and like remind us that some classic rock is OK.

Cheyenne Kimball
played and she was on the small stage too but she totally should have been on the big stage. She’s like on MTV and her music was great! She was so cute on stage and she played a guitar ‘cause she said her keyboard guy and another guy in her band got stuck in L.A. But she was awesome. Me and all my friends ran over to the little stage to like try to get front row and meet her but we were too slow. But she was sooooo cute OMG! Cheyenne is like my total hero. I totally want my own show on MTV.

Well, by now you know that we were almost ready for NICK LACHEY!!! :) Everyone in the crowd was so excited. The DJs from 93.3 (the BEST station) kept asking all us girls like who wanted to go backstage with Nick and we were all like screaming like crazy and it was so funny and one DJ kept talking about Nick being shirtless and working out back there and it was kinda gross I mean isn’t Nick like 30 or something but OMG he’s soooooooooo cute and now that he’s single I would totally marry him!! Jessica is such a dummy.

Anyways, before Nick Lachey came on, Pink played. She had on this weird black outfit and really high-heeled black boots and she had one of those things you smack a horse with when you’re riding it – I’m totally blanking out – but anyways, the crowd went pretty crazy. OMG! I have to tell you this – like when Pink sang "I’m Coming Out" like these two girls next to us started dancing with each other and they were like TOTALLY GAY! and it was so gross I can’t even talk about it. And it was so weird ‘cause I thought, “They’re not even here to see Nick Lachey…” Gayness is so weird but whatev. Pink sounded like Ashley Parker Angel. Well I mean she didn’t sound like him but her voice was like all rough like his. She even apologized for it. Pink said she was getting tattooed at 6 in the morning. OMG, like how can you do that to yourself when you know you have to sing to people later? Anyways, she also sang a song about President Bush and the war in Iraq and it was all like, “You don’t know nothing about hard work. Let me tell you about hard work.” Everybody sorta cheered…a little bit…cause I think everybody was like “You’re up until 6 in the morning getting tattoos. Is that hard work?” but whatever.

OMG! THEN NICK LACHEY CAME ON STAGE and he was sooooooooooo beautiful and he had on this tight black t-shirt and he was like so buff and smiling and he sang soooo good. Really. His voice wasn’t rough at all. And he was soooo cute and he sang all these awesome slow songs and like halfway through, after the third song or so, he talked to us and he was like, “You know what we’re here to celebrate?” And everybody screamed! And Nick Lachey was like, “Some people call it The 4th of July…but I like to call it…‘Independence Day’.” And we were all like screaming and some girl threw her water and screamed that she wanted to have Nick Lachey’s baby and we were like “Gross, you’re like 12 and he’s like 30.” But when he sang "What’s Left of Me" I even screamed “I’ll take what’s left of you!” and everybody laughed and jumped around and it was like being in heaven only louder and with more lights. OMG and in front of us – like RIGHT in front us – these two guys and their like seven girlfriends or whatever were all getting it on right in front of us and it was so gross ‘cause like one of the guys would kiss one of the girls and when she wasn’t looking he’d start kissing another one of the girls and then like one of the guys was slow-dancing with one girl to a Nick Lachey song and while he was slow-dancing and kissing on this one girl he was like totally feeling another girl’s butt and we were like that is soooooo NASTY but whatever.

And that was it. OH! Nick Lachey came back out and played another song and it was a 98 Degrees song and it sounded sooooooo good like I didn’t even miss the other guys in the band. I couldn’t believe he could do it without the rest of 98 Degrees but he did! :O

Then there were fireworks and then we went home. What an awesome day! So, here’s pretty much what you missed if you didn’t want to read everything I already wrote:

Give Me Sound – Not on TRL
Aly & AJ – Cuter than the Olsen Twins
Mario Vazquez – Loves 7th graders
Teddy Geiger – Cute and can play piano and guitar
Saving Jane – Doesn’t like cheerleaders ;)
Ashley Parker Angel – Sounds different than his CD
Cheyenne Kimball – Cute clothes and very nice to us
Pink – Gay girls like her
Nick Lachey – SOOOOO cute and sooooo much better without Jessica – NOT Nick La-Gay!

Thanks, Mix 93.3 for bringing these very unique and very important singers to Kansas City. We are so lucky. C-ya!
